Mongigol Sumundai- Dance of the Rungus Tribal Clan

The Rungus Kid With a Touch of That Artisanship

Rungus- natives of  North Borneo (Sabah) whose costumes resemble those of native tribes of China.

In fact, in my personal opinion, the Rungus exhibit facial characteristics closer to that of a Mongoloid feature.  I would venture to say, with much confidence, they may be the only natives in Borneo who still possess the pure DNA of the original people who first came out of the island of Taiwan. Being very traditional in their lifestyle may also help explain why they still posses those East Asian characteristics. However, if you were to disagree with my scientific supposition, feel free to do so. It doesn’t really bother me that much. After all, most scientific experts do change their minds about a certain hypothesis some years down the line. Why would I be any different?

Oh yeah, the dance. The male dancer is usually surrounded a posse of female dancers. Lucky, lucky devil- him!

Where could you encounter such exquisite native tribes?  Try the town of Kudat in northern Sabah.
