Tidbits:

Many Chinese people often use the term “Descendants of the Dragon” (龍的傳人 or 龙的传人, lóng de chuán rén) as a sign of ethnic identity, as part of a trend started in the 1970s.

** The sight of dragon dance procession in KK over the Chinese New Year period is not a guarantee. This tradition is now slowly dying out due to the fact that there is a declining population of ethnic Chinese in the area. The traditional heritage is now being taken up by the local natives and those of mixed heritage. In time to come we may yet see the migrating back to mainland China of ethnic Chinese and those of mixed heritage. This is a great possibility, judging from the ongoing trend.
